Rosen Plevneliev: We should help the companies already working in Bulgaria to achieve success
Opportunities are sought to ensure that components produced in Bulgaria reach the production capacities of Daimler in Hungary and Germany and the company’s contractors and suppliers may function in our country. This is what President Rosen Plevneliev said in Stuttgart, where he held talks with representatives of the German business circles. “However, Bulgaria must fulfill two things. The quality of education is of crucial importance. Engineers, computer programmers, designers are necessary and this is the clear message,” the President summarized the results of his meetings held in Baden Wurttemberg.
According to the Head of State, Bulgaria’s success in the sphere of programming and the production of automobile components “is impressive and can attract new investments.” “However, we are obliged to work in a way that will help the companies already working in Bulgaria achieve success and we should support the clusters. One of the working clusters in Bulgaria is the automobile one,” Rosen Plevneliev recalled and called on businessmen to launch more pilot projects. “This means pursuing specific policies, jointly working with the universities and more work,” the Head of State commented.
Bulgaria is fully trusted in Baden Wurttemberg and Bavaria, President Rosen Plevneliev further added. He pointed out concrete investment opportunities to produce automobile components in Bulgaria – head lights, windscreens, air-conditioning installations and brake gears for prestigious car brands produced by Daimler. Officials from the “Festo” company voiced their intention to build a second factory in Sofia. The investment is expected to reach three billion euros and to create 600 new jobs. The company produces automatic pneumatic and electric systems and technologies. Representatives of the “Bosch” company are due to visit Bulgaria. “We need competent people and trust – this is the solution are we are on the right road,” President Rosen Plevneliev further added in Stuttgart.
