The Head of State: The Occupation of the Territory of a Sovereign Country May Have Unpredictable Consequences
“In the 21st century it should not be possible to annex a foreign territory. It is not only me, but the whole world that hopes that Russia will not exceed the limit beyond which there is no turning back.” This is what President Rosen Plevneliev said today in reply to journalist question about the situation in Ukraine. The topic was also discussed during the meeting the Head of State held with Sheikh Tamin Bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of Qatar.
President Plevneliev emphasized that the occupation of the territory of a sovereign country may have “unpredictable negative consequences not only for Europe, but also for Asia and in a much wider plan.” “Therefore all of us hope that, even in the last moment, the miracle might happen and a political solution might be found,” the Head of State said.
Rosen Plevneliev was adamant that the Cold War should remain in the past and the future not only of Europe, but also of Russia lies in cooperation and integration.
