According to the Presidents of Bulgaria and Macedonia, politicians should work for the future and the implementation of joint projects
We shall not compromise with history. Historians are the ones who have to deal with the interpretation of historical facts, the work of politicians is to work for the future and the implementation of common projects. This was said today by the presidents of Bulgaria and Macedonia, Rosen Plevneliev and Gjorge Ivanov, who met in Belgrade. They were participating in the meeting of Heads of States Parties to the Process of Co-operation in South East Europe (SEECP).
Presidents Plevneliev and Ivanov emphasised the readiness of Bulgaria and Macedonia to resolve all issues on the agenda of the bilateral dialogue in a spirit of mutual understanding. The Bulgarian Head of State reiterated his country’s support for the European and Euro-Atlantic integration of Macedonia.
During the meeting, the importance for both sides of the building of transport corridor ? 8 was noted. President Plevneliev urged Macedonia to accelerate the implementation of the cross border co-operation programme, for 20 million euro has been provided for the implementation of projects on both sides of the common border.
