Head of State Rosen Plevneliev bestowed the highest state order “Stara Planina” first degree to Russian Ambassador to Bulgaria Yuriy Isakov
At a ceremony in the Coat of Arms Hall at 2, Dondukov street, the President Rosen Plevneliev bestowed the highest state order “Stara Planina” first degree to the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Bulgaria Yuriy Isakov. The Head of State underscored that the high state award is not only an acknowledgement of the professional qualities of Yuriy Isakov, but also a clear expression of the importance the Bulgarian state attributes to the bilateral dialogue with Russia and the aspiration to further develop and intensify these relations.
„The relations between the Republic of Bulgaria and the Russian Federation have always been at the centre of public and political importance and interest. They have their strong base, typical for countries with long-standing historical traditions“, said Rosen Plevneliev in his statement at the ceremony. The President also said the two countries have created the required solid basis on which to continue to develop an equal and mutually beneficial comprehensive dialogue.
In his statement at the ceremony, the Head of State expressed his gratitude to Yuriy Isakov for his active efforts in encouraging the traditionally friendly relations between the two countries and people. „During his term of office in Bulgaria, Ambassador Yuriy Isakov made an effort to preserve the positive agenda and the constructive spirit of cooperation in the areas of shared interest. Thus, the contacts in the spheres of trade, economy, social policy, education, science and culture were strengthened and contributed to preserving the traditionally amicable and friendly relations between the Bulgarian and the Russian people“, underscored the President in his statement.
Ambassador Yuriy Isakov stated that during his term of office he aspired to work for the maintaining and further developing of the friendly relations between the two countries and the two peoples. „We highly esteem the glorious history that we share. Every time we commemorate the Third of March, thousands of people climb mount Shipka to celebrate the Russian soldiers and the Bulgarian volunteers. It is an event to remind ourselves how close the ties between our two peoples are“, said Yuriy Isakov. The diplomat underscored that it presented a veritable solid basis on which Bulgaria and Russia can build constructive and mutually beneficial relations, founded on equality and mutual respect.
