Rumen Radev to Political Leaders in Skopje: Our Common Goal is to See the Republic of Macedonia as a NATO and EU Member State As Soon As Possible
Head of State Rumen Radev held consecutive meetings with the Presidents of VMRO-DPMNE and the Democratic Union for Integration (DUI) Christian Mitzkoski and Ali Ahmeti. The talks were held within the Bulgarian President’s two-day official visit in Skopje.
Bulgaria has always supported the Republic of Macedonia at the most difficult times it has experienced. We hope to remove the borders between the people, to encourage friendship and business. This was the message that Head of State Rumen Radev conveyed at a meeting with political leaders that took place in the late afternoon yesterday.
Rumen Radev called on the political leaders in the Republic of Macedonia to achieve unity vis-à-vis the country’s strategic goals, despite the differences in their outlooks in domestic terms.
Aspects of the bilateral relations between the Republic of Bulgaria and the Republic of Macedonia were also discussed at the meetings. So were the prospects for implementing the Agreement on Friendship, Good-neighborliness and Cooperation between the two countries.
“I believe that we will soon see how the people from the two sides of our common border travel quickly and comfortably, they do business, invest and build freely and closely cooperate in the areas of culture, education and research,” the Head of State said in the talks he held.
