President Rumen Radev: Bulgaria and the Republic of Macedonia Enjoy a Strategic Partnership and This is the Stance Adopted by All Bulgarian Political Parties
The relations between Bulgaria and the Republic of Macedonia are based on deep historical and spiritual ties and all Bulgarian political parties recognize that the two countries enjoy a strategic bilateral partnership. This is what President Rumen Radev said at a meeting with the President of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia Talat Xhaferi.
The Head of State emphasized that although there are power holders and opposition in every democratic state, when the Agreement on Friendship, Good-neighborliness and Cooperation was ratified by the Bulgarian Parliament, all political parties voted for it unanimously.
The two shared the opinion that the ratification of the bilateral Agreement on Friendship, Good-neighborliness and Cooperation opens up new opportunities for the development of cooperation between Bulgaria and the Republic of Macedonia in all spheres – political dialogue, economy, tourism, culture and education, security and others. All institutions in the two countries should actively participate in this process.
The Assembly deputies from the friendship groups in the Bulgarian and Macedonian Parliament highlighted the positive trend in the development of the bilateral relations in the past year. The opportunity for more Macedonian servicemen to undergo training in Bulgarian military schools was also discussed and President Radev voiced Bulgaria’s readiness to offer a full catalogue of the courses in the Bulgarian military universities.
