President Rumen Radev: Bulgaria has the Ambition to Restore its Traditionally Good Relations with the African Countries
Bulgaria has the ambition to restore and develop its traditionally good relations with the African countries in spheres such as education, construction, agriculture and food production and its cooperation in the security sphere. This is what President Rumen Radev said at a meeting with the Prime Minister of Cape Verde Jose Ulisses de Pina Correia e Silva at 2 Dondukov street.
The Head of State said that our country will be an active supporter of the development of partnership between the EU and the African countries within the Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the EU. An agreement on special partnership between the EU and Cape Verde was signed in 2007, which is a factor for strengthening the political dialogue and the economic cooperation.
Relieving the visa restrictions for the citizens of Cape Verde is an important step towards promoting the business and tourist exchange, it further transpired at the meeting. Similar steps have already been taken vis-à-vis the EU citizens, Prime Minister Jose Ulisses de Pina Correia e Silva said.
The opportunity to establish cooperation between Bulgaria and Cape Verde in the sphere of information and communication technologies and military education and training was also highlighted. A meeting between a delegation from Cape Verde and representatives of the Bulgarian business will soon be held, at which the opportunities for investments in the country will be presented.
