Rumen Radev Discussed the Prospects for Promoting the Investment Cooperation with Franz Josef Pschierer, State Minister of Economic Affairs, Energy and Technology of Bavaria
President Rumen Radev and Franz Josef Pschierer, State Minister of Economic Affairs, Energy and Technology of the Free State of Bavaria discussed opportunities for promoting investment cooperation in high value-added sectors and trade at 2 Dondukov street. Pschierer is visiting Bulgaria with a delegation including representatives of various institutions, economic organizations and business.
Radev invited Bavaria to make use of the advantages Bulgaria offers to investors - a well-trained workforce, proven IT expertise and traditions, as well as a stable currency. Bulgaria is one of Bavaria’s important trading partners because of its strategic location, low taxes and industrial zone network, Pschierer said. The Bavarian Minister also highlighted the need to increase the transparency of the Bulgarian administration and to guarantee the security of attracting investments.
Rumen Radev highly appreciated Bavaria’s support in building the dual vocational training system in Bulgaria. Franz Josef Pschierer confirmed Bavaria’s readiness to continue to help our country implement this successful economic model.
At the meeting opinions were exchanged on the future of Europe and issues pertaining to security, the reforms of asylum policy and migration control. The Bavarian Minister highly appreciated Bulgaria’s efforts to protect the EU borders and voiced readiness to help in case the migration pressure dramatically increases.
The importance of the EU Danube Strategy for both countries was also confirmed, as it is an important factor for ensuring economic growth, boosting cohesion and the cultural exchange between the European countries.
