The Head of State: Bulgaria Expects Sustainability and Financial Predictability when Modernizing the Air Force
Bulgaria expects sustainability and financial predictability in the process of modernization of the Air Force, President Rumen Radev said at a meeting with Lockheed Martin’s Business Development Director Randy Howard. The talks also focused on the stipulated in the framework agreement cooperation in the sphere of high technologies.
At the meeting the Head of State said that the Bulgarian Air Force should have at its disposal a multifunctional aircraft with a full suite of capabilities and the necessary equipment to enable its reliable support and the comprehensive training of Bulgarian pilots. The full package of land equipment and armament, and also meeting the delivery deadline are of key importance for the operational capabilities of the Bulgarian Air Force, Rumen Radev further said.
Randy Howard emphasized that Lockheed Martin will meet the contractual deadline for the production and delivery of the F-16 to our country. He also assured that Bulgaria will receive multifunctional aircraft with state-of-the-art defense capabilities and the company will seek financial buffers in the agreement for the full support of the aircraft and their equipment and also for achieving the capabilities Bulgaria seeks.
