Rumen Radev at a Meeting with Shinzo Abe: Bulgaria is Open for a much more Active Economic and Investment Partnership with Japan
Bulgaria is open for a much more active economic and investment partnership with Japan, President Rumen Radev said at a meeting with Prime Minister Shinzo Abe today. The meeting was held within the Bulgarian Head of State’s visit to Tokyo to take part in the enthronement of Emperor Naruhito.
The successful examples of cooperation between Bulgarian and Japanese companies in the car industry, energy and food production should be used as a model for a follow-up expansion of the Japanese investments in Bulgaria, Rumen Radev said. The President recalled our country’s strong traditions in the production of car parts and the development of information technologies. Prime Minister Abe emphasized that the Japanese companies highly appreciate of the supplies of car components and parts from Bulgaria and added that Japan shows an interest in an even closer cooperation in this sphere.
The Head of State highlighted as Bulgaria’s competitive advantages the country’s strategic location, the highly qualified workers and the good price-quality ratio in the European Union. “However, what is most important in our bilateral relations is the trust and friendship that connect the two peoples,” the Head of State emphasized. Rumen Radev noted Japan’s strong cultural presence in our country and also the growing interest of Bulgarian pupils and students in studying the Japanese language.
Rumen Radev and Shinzo Abe also discussed topics on the international agenda, the Western Balkan countries’ European integration, the potential risks global security is facing and other issues.
