Rumen Radev: the Efficient Counteraction against Terrorism Requires a Change of the Social and Economic Environment that Gives Rise to it
The President took part in a video conference dedicated to the Aqaba process
The efficient counteraction against terrorism requires a change of the social and economic environment that gives rise to it. This is what President Rumen Radev said, who took part in a meeting within the Aqaba process, held through a video conference today. In the Head of State’s words, the Aqaba process is not only an efficient tool and a political platform for fighting global terrorism, but is also the basis for a speeded up social integration through engaging education, social and economic prosperity. The event is hosted by the king of the Kingdom of Jordan Abdullah II.
The Aqaba process has not only a regional, but also a global dimension “particularly in times of hardship we live in today”, the Bulgarian Head of State further said. In Rumen Radev’s words, the challenges provoked by the current coronavirus pandemic can be overcome by changing the traditional approaches and promoting dialogue, education, economic development and the social activities on the part of political leaders.
The Head of State confirmed our country’s readiness to host the forum in 2021. “Hopefully in the near future, when the circumstances allow it, we will have the opportunity to confirm together in Bulgaria our commitment to the principles and ideals of this noble vision”, Rumen Radev said.
