Head of State Rumen Radev held a phone call today with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Albania Edi Rama. European integration of the countries in the Western Balkans and strengthening stability in our region were the focal points of the conversation.
President Radev expressed the appraisal of our country for the European approach of Albania to effectively respect and affirm the rights of the Bulgarian minority in the country. The Bulgarian President welcomed the active bilateral dialogue, as well as the achievements of Albania in the process of European integration.
Both shared the position that strengthening the European perspective for countries in the Western Balkans is in the interest not only of our region, but of the European Union as well, and it requires an unwavering political will for implementing the necessary reforms.
