President Radev: Stability of the banking system is a key factor for handling crises
The stability of the banking system is a key factor for dealing with today's crises. This is what President Rumen Radev said during a meeting with Andrea Orcel, CEO of UniCredit, one of Europe's leading financial groups. The meeting was also attended by the Governor of the Bulgarian National Bank, Dimitar Radev.
The Head of State added that a number of European banks are interested in expanding their positions in this country, which is facilitated by the rapid development of the fintech industry, the IT sector and related investments. In the complicated international environment, it is of utmost importance for Bulgaria to maintain its economic competitiveness, President Radev stressed. Andrea Orcel assured that the banking group he manages, which has the largest representation in the country, will continue to support all efforts for a sustainable recovery from the crises European countries are facing today.
