Presidents Rumen Radev and Alexander Van der Bellen meet in Riga
Bulgaria and Austria have active economic and investment cooperation, share common positions on many issues on the European Union's agenda and will continue to develop their bilateral partnership in a comprehensive way. This was the common position of Presidents Rumen Radev of Bulgaria and Alexander Van der Bellen of Austria, who met today in the framework of the Three Seas Initiative summit in Riga.
At the meeting, they discussed the possibilities of transporting cereals from Ukraine along the Danube, due to the blockage of Ukrainian ports in the Black Sea, as well as the European integration of the Republic of North Macedonia (RNM).
President Radev pointed out that the French presidency's proposal for the European integration of the RNM is a step in the right direction, but it is of utmost importance that the bilateral protocol that Bulgaria and the RNM will sign as an integral part of the negotiating framework gives clear deadlines and guarantees for the resolution of all open issues. An expert analysis of the content of the bilateral protocol is to be carried out.
