Head of State Rumen Radev meets with UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan
Bulgaria and the United Arab Emirates will upgrade their bilateral relations to strategic partnership
Bulgarian Head of State Rumen Radev held a meeting with President of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Abu Dhabi, H.H. Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. An official exchange of the bilateral documents signed between Bulgaria and the UAE took place In the presence of the two Heads of State at the Presidential Palace in Abu Dhabi.
A Memorandum of Strategic Partnership between Bulgaria and the United Arab Emirates was signed. The agreement aims to promote investment between the two countries, to foster cooperation in a wide range of areas and exchanges between government officials, academic and private sectors.
Bilateral documents of understanding were also signed in the fields of tourism, agriculture, education, culture, as well as the exchange of information. The Memorandum of Cooperation in Agriculture aims to enhance cooperation in this field and to strengthen food security and food safety. In the tourism sector, the MoU focuses on creating the most favourable conditions for a mutually beneficial partnership and boosting initiatives to promote cultural and historic monuments for the bilateral development of cultural tourism. Cooperation in education will include information exchange, teacher training, curriculum design and development, including language training. The document in the field of culture outlines the opportunities for expanding cultural ties between Bulgaria and the UAE.
Within the framework of the Head of State's visit, a cooperation agreement was also signed between the Bulgarian News Agency and the UAE News Agency (WAM), which provides for a daily exchange of news between the two agencies to be published in their news bulletins for free access.
