President Rumen Radev and Saudi Foreign Minister discuss prospects for the development of economic cooperation between Bulgaria and Saudi Arabia
President Rumen Radev and Foreign Minister, Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, discussed cooperation between Bulgaria and Saudi Arabia in the economy, energy and high technologies at a meeting in New York. The head of state expressed his appreciation for the large-scale initiative for the development and modernisation of Saudi Arabia Vision 2030 and noted the opportunity and capacity of Bulgarian companies to participate in this process.
The two concurred that Bulgaria and Saudi Arabia can collaborate in the high-tech sectors, scientific research, and defence. The holding of the first meeting of the Joint Economic Cooperation Committee between Bulgaria and Saudi Arabia will provide an opportunity to identify specific areas and projects of mutual interest, it was stressed during the meeting.
President Rumen Radev also expressed Bulgaria's interest in alternative supplies of crude oil after the expiry of the waiver on oil imports from Russia.
