Rumen Radev: Accelerating Integration of the Republic of Kosovo into International Structures Will Be a Positive Sign for the Whole Region
Accelerating the process of Kosovo's integration into international structures, the European and Euro-Atlantic community will be a positive sign for the entire region. This is what President Rumen Radev said when he met today with the President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, before the start of the summit of the European political community at the Blenheim Palace, Oxfordshire, UK. The two underlined the excellent political dialogue as a factor for the comprehensive development of relations between Bulgaria and Kosovo.
The Bulgarian head of state highly appreciated the results of his official visit to Kosovo last December, during which a wide range of topics on the agenda of bilateral cooperation in the economy, investment, education and security were discussed, as well as his meetings with the representatives of the Bulgarian community in the country. In this context, President Radev expressed his appreciation for Kosovo's approach towards the communities in line with European democratic standards. The common position was that guaranteeing the right to self-determination is among the foundations of democracy. Radev expressed the hope that the process of consolidating the status and opportunities for the full exercise of the rights of the Bulgarian community in the country and its development will continue as a real factor for fostering bilateral ties.
