In Jerusalem, President Plevneliev received thanks from Israel for Bulgaria’s assistance and involvement after the bombing in Bourgas
The terrorist act in Bourgas brings together Bulgarians and Jews in rejection and condemnation of such crimes. This was the common position shared by President Rosen Plevneliev and the Speaker of the Knesset Reuven Rivlin, expressed to journalists after a meeting in Jerusalem. President Plevneliev reiterated that citizens and the democratic community want to see Bulgarian institutions identify and bring to justice the perpetrators of the attack at Bourgas Airport.
“All the Israeli citizens injured in the bombing in Bourgas and their families are grateful for the support provided to them by the Bulgarian authorities and the involvement of the Bulgarian people,” Speaker Rivlin said. He expressed the Israeli authorities’ condolences to the family of Mustafa Kyosov, the Bulgarian citizen who died in the bombing, and emphasised that Israel would be honored to welcome his relatives.
Speaker Rivlin expressed the gratitude of Israel for Bulgaria’s constructive position on the restoration of direct negotiations between Israel and the Palestinian Authority. “Israel supports the restoration of direct talks and this should be done without preconditions imposed by either party,” he said.
