Head of State Honoured the Vietnam-Bulgaria Friendship Association with a Presidential Badge of Honour
President's official visit to Vietnam begins with a meeting with the community of Vietnamese citizens who studied and worked in Bulgaria
Bulgaria will continue to be a second homeland for Vietnamese citizens who have studied and worked in our country. We are proud that they contribute to the development of today's Vietnam with their knowledge, skills and experience gained in our country. With these words, President Rumen Radev addressed representatives of the community of Vietnamese citizens who have studied and worked in Bulgaria and representatives of the Vietnam-Bulgaria Friendship Association, who today welcomed the Bulgarian Head of State in Hanoi with a solemn event. The meeting, which was also attended by President Radev's wife, was held on the first day of the Head of State's official visit to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
Rumen Radev presented the Vietnam-Bulgaria Friendship Association with a Presidential Badge of Honour for the Association's active role in the development of relations between the two countries, as well as for its tireless support for Bulgarian initiatives on Vietnamese territory. The Association was established in 1982 and includes hundreds of Vietnamese citizens. It is active in cultural exchanges between the two countries and organises various events on national and official Bulgarian holidays and anniversaries.
In his address, Radev said that Bulgaria will always be open to Vietnamese citizens who have studied and worked in the country. I wish you to remain united and to continue contributing to the development of Vietnam and the wonderful relations between our two countries, President Radev said, adding that there is huge potential for cooperation in a number of areas of common interest, such as trade, investment, energy, engineering, construction, information technology, tourism, agriculture, and pharmaceutics.
Bulgaria has hosted and trained more than five thousand Vietnamese students and over 40 thousand trainees in various professional fields, Huynh Quyet-Thang, chairman of the Vietnam-Bulgaria Friendship Association, said in his address, adding that Vietnamese citizens have gained valuable skills and professional experience from their Bulgarian counterparts.
