President Radev Highlights the Prospects for Expanding Economic Partnership between Bulgaria and FRG at Meetings with Business Representatives in Munich
President Rumen Radev highlighted the prospects for further expansion of the economic partnership between Bulgaria and the Federal Republic of Germany at meetings with business representatives, where he is taking part in the Munich Security Conference. During a discussion with representatives of the Federal Association for Economic Development and Foreign Trade, in which Foreign Minister Georg Georgiev also participated, the Head of State pointed to the positive trend in the economic and investment cooperation, an indicator of which is the sustainable trade in goods, which for another year reached EUR 12 billion a year with a positive balance for this country.
Radev highly appreciated the investments from FRG in Bulgaria both for contributing to the creation of new jobs in the real economy and production, but also for the implementation of new business and management models for the development of links between science and education and the economy.
Particularly promising areas of bilateral partnership were identified as the automotive sector, the production of machinery and equipment, electronics and high technology, including the creation of software. There was a common position that the relations between Bulgaria and FRG, built and developing on the basis of mutual trust, are of common interest and strengthen the potential for overcoming economic crises.
In Munich, President Radev also held a meeting with the chairman of the Federal Association of the German Security and Defence Industry, Armin Papperger, during which he expressed this country's interest in joint cooperation in this field.
