President Rumen Radev and Foreign Minister Juraj Blanar Discuss the Prospects for Expanding Cooperation between Bulgaria and Slovakia
President Rumen Radev and Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic, Juraj Blanar, discussed the prospects for expanding cooperation between Bulgaria and Slovakia in the economy, energy, innovation, automotive industry and pharmaceutics at a meeting at the Presidential Institution. The Minister is on a working visit to Bulgaria, and during the meeting, it was emphasised that the peoples of Bulgaria and Slovakia are linked by centuries-old historical and cultural ties, and today the two countries cooperate fruitfully in various fields with a potential for the partnerships to expand.
Rumen Radev and Juraj Blanar highlighted the excellent cooperation between Bulgaria and Slovakia within the European Union, as well as the need to strengthen the bilateral political dialogue, including at the highest level, in order to bring new dynamics to bilateral relations.
The interlocutors were unanimous that the war in Ukraine has no military solution, and therefore an end to hostilities and the search for a peaceful solution by means of diplomacy is needed as soon as possible. The negative economic and social consequences of this war affect the EU and especially the countries of the Eastern European region, Rumen Radev and Juraj Blanar further stressed during the meeting.
