Head of State: Bulgaria Seeks to Deepen Its Investment Cooperation and Implement Joint Projects with Saudi Arabia in the Field of High Technology and Innovation

"Vision 2030" for the modernisation of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia through targeted investments in high technology, innovation, energy, and education reveals favourable prospects for the implementation of mutually beneficial projects with Bulgaria. This was stated by President Rumen Radev at a meeting in Riyadh with the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the country, His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman. The head of state highlighted Bulgaria's establishment as a centre for high-tech development in Southeast Europe, to which a number of technology companies and scientific units contribute, the activities of the first Institute of Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence in our region, as well as the upcoming creation in Sofia of one of the six artificial intelligence factories included in the key computing infrastructure of the European Union.
The common position at the talks was that both countries have achievements in the fields of high technology, innovation, sustainable solutions in energy and defence, and this creates a solid foundation for the development of bilateral trade, economic, scientific, and investment partnership between Bulgaria and Saudi Arabia. Mutual interest was also noted in expanding scientific and educational exchanges, as well as opportunities to use European financial mechanisms for the implementation of joint projects.
The Bulgarian head of state expressed our country's support for the efforts of the Middle East countries to end hostilities in the region as soon as possible and to achieve a sustainable peaceful solution through diplomacy.
Radev renewed his invitation to His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed Bin Salman to make his postponed visit to Bulgaria together with business representatives in order to further deepen bilateral dialogue at the highest level and stimulate bilateral economic relations.
