The presidential institution is following developments in the Middle East with concern
The presidential institution is following developments in the Middle East with concern and anxiety. We join international efforts to end the military actions and to return to the negotiating table, and we support calls for the urgent convening of the UN Security Council. The risk of escalation of the conflict is high and affects the entire Middle East region.
The President, as the supreme commander of the Armed Forces, is in constant contact with the relevant Bulgarian institutions and security bodies. She regularly receives the necessary reports and proposals and, depending on how the situation evolves, takes and will continue to take appropriate actions in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Bulgaria.
